Barnes 50 grn ttsx in .222

Morning everyone, I’ve been really enjoying shooting my .222 tikka varmint, it’s stupidly accurate with hornady v max and sako gamehead factory ammo. It’s never printed a bad group with anything, but is capable of really great groups with what it likes.

I stumbled on a thread on here where @takbok & @caberslash were pulling the tips on the 50grn ttsx in order to make them stabilise in a 1-14 twist 220 swift, so I figured I’d give them a go in my .222. The tips pull out very easily.
I worked up and found an accuracy node. I’m going to load the 30 bullets I have left now and if I find them to be good in deer and fox, I’ll spend some time trying different seating depths.
Attached are pics of the Barnes group in the red, and the hornady group in the other picture. Both 5 shot groups at 100m.

well it will kill any deer at that range if you point it correctly ! I would try at your maximum to find out if this accuracy looses the plot at increased range now . Personally i just discovered this in some factory .223 loads great to 200 but at 300 ? lost the plot ! ( no its wasn't wind effect )
