BASC calls for resignation of North Yorkshire councillor over suicide comments

What if I were to say "all liberals" or "all B&B owners" should commit suicide? Or just "Cllr Thomas Woodward should kill himself"?
Would I get away with it?

Would you hell as like, he's a councillor, the police would be all over you if you posted that online.

so so tempting

Leave him alone. If he has committed a crime then the police can deal with it, once someone makes a complaint to them and they act. If he hasn't committed a crime then he is entitled to express his views and we are entitled to judge him by them.

Do not turn him into a victim as, based on his expressed views, most people have been able to judge that he is something else entirely.

If you want to do something then report the fact that you believe a crime has taken place to the police and let Mr. Woodward sort it out with them.

Just had the following email. Looks like they're at least considering doing more than the original "not our views, not our problem" stance.

Good morning Mr (SimpleSimon)

Thing is Caorach that anything posted on a web site can be seen as inflammatory - just look at the SNP councillors who were suspended from the party for burning a copy of the Smith report.
We demand and expect better from people who hold a public office post than this sort of opionated diatribe.

So, have you reported it to the police? Do they think a crime has taken place? Will they investigate?
