BASC commits ‘Fighting Fund’ support to Humber wildfowlers

BASC is committing financial assistance and expert advice to Humber wildfowling clubs suffering from Natural England’s failure to provide a satisfactory consenting process.

Legal opinions are being gathered to ensure clubs that have been refused shooting consents have all the options and resources at their disposal to respond to Natural England.

This will be supported by BASC’s Fighting Fund, which was launched earlier this year to promote and protect shooting.

James Green, BASC’s head of wildfowling, said: “BASC is committing financial and staffing resources to areas that threaten the future of shooting. We are delighted to be able to support the Humber clubs at this level.

“The consenting process being undertaken by Natural England will have no conservation or environmental benefit. It simply demonstrates the licensing agency’s priority to gold plate regulation rather than to effectively manage the habitat for the benefit of the wildlife that relies on it.

“Wildfowlers have been the custodians of our protected sites for hundreds of years; Natural England continue to trample on history and conservation in favour of a precautionary approach. We must challenge it.

“The Humber is iconic for wildfowling and a key part of the history of BASC, which came out of WAGBI. It’s important we help shooting face down this threat.”

Good stuff....

See the same post on Pigeon Watch and the criticism there -I'm fed up of doing it.
Now 8 BASC posts on the first page - is there that much interest ?

So here's the thing..... BASC get accused of doing nothing regarding anything to help there members or the fieldsports community so they get heckled the sh1t out of on here.
Now they've started to post on here relevant information about stuff and in this post that they are helping wildfowling with advice and funding and they get heckled the sh1t out of...
And "I'M THE ONE" who gets accused of being a trole on a previous thread.... Come on chaps it's absolutely priceless 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Not heckling jimmy just curious as to why this matters to them when so many other issues didn’t ?

If your membership is suffering, the first thing you do is "GET YOUR NAME OUT THERE" - my view is that its a recruitment drive - comment by Mr O'Gorman on PW - none here.
However, what do Iknow ? Dont forget my credibility is shot to hell and back.

Indeed perhaps the membership numbers are dwindling ..... they should be

What's the quote on lead today then, and private doctor's fees ?

I am getting tired of how divisive this subject has become. It is horrid to see great people with so much in common turn sour as soon it comes up. Love 'em or hate 'em (personally, I think they're dreadful), surely we can find a way of discussing BASC without so much venom?

Pretty poor, as I've always said...

However I'm sure everyone is writing to THEIR organisation telling them how disgruntled they are with the lack of visual fighting for fieldsports that THEY'RE doing..

Narrr doubt it.... as its easier to just keep coming on here digging at BASC "who like the others have their failings, which I've never denied" Where's the other orgs presence on here ??? Narrrr not here cause they're all keeping their heads down to avoid the flack.... 😉😉
