As someone who has some training in the law it seems to me that a "Fighting Fund" that is made available to contest a case that has an assured chance of success is pretty pointless. Mere "cherry picking" doesn't serve a membership well. As if the case has an assured chance of success then you might as well present it yourself anyway.
Following the process of 1) These are the facts of the case, 2) This is the law, 3) This is how the law applies to the case, 4) This is what the decision should be when the law is so applied. It's not difficult. I took the French Minister of the Interior to court, in France, and all in French to the third tier and won. As the law applied correctly agreed with my position.
It is the cases that have a less than likely chance of success that need the resources of a skilled advocate. Who can then argue those points if law that could be either way in or against you and persuade the court that they support your argument or are weak if they support the contra argument. That's what a true "Fighting Fund" should exist for.
