BASC welcomes new training programme for firearms enquiry officers

Indeed it was ‘your’ update. But acknowledging the other partners involved would be so much more agreeable and offer a sense that there is unity and common purpose in the shooting community on this matter.

Thanks, do you mean listing out all the organisations that are members of the BSSC in the update? This is what was in the BASC update - with a link to the BSSC website:

BASC played a significant role in developing the new course, working closely with the British Shooting Sports Council (BSSC), with the aim of ensuring professional competence amongst firearms enquiry officers (FEOs) and to achieve consistent good practice across the forces.

Conor can you please name which 19 force PCCs that would encourage the setting up of independent advisory groups.
  • Cambridgeshire
  • Cumbria
  • Devon and Cornwall
  • Essex
  • Gwent
  • Hampshire
  • Hertfordshire
  • Humberside
  • Kent
  • Leicestershire
  • Norfolk
  • Northamptonshire
  • South Wales
  • Suffolk
  • Surrey
  • Thames Valley
  • Warwickshire
  • West Yorkshire (There is no PCC it's a Mayor that has oversight of West Yorkshire Police)
  • Wiltshire

The update is from BASC - it would have been a handful of people in BASC and running British Shooting Sports Council (BSSC) that were involved. BSSC is mentioned in the BASC update.
A Google search turns up no reports or articles by any of the other organisations involved.

If they're not savvy enough to talk about their involvement and broadcast it to their members then you can hardly knock BASC for not doing their job for them.

Thank you Conor, much appreciated.
