Besides stalking what is your other hobby?

Singing (used to be in the Hereford Cathedral choir 70 years ago), Sailing (currently building a 26ft yacht - completion estimated 2025), Fly fishing (salmon, trout, char and sometimes carp and pike), Stalking and vermin shooting and bedding and restocking rifles to fit me.

Fishing , camping , gardening , motorcycles , scuba diving and a bit of birding . I used to fly recreationally but it got too expensive and I used to rock climb but I got too old and lame ............. mostly from hobby number four .

AB

Making alcoholic drinks
Visiting National Trust places
Practical pistol shooting (airsoft)
Sauna
Gym (don’t like, but …)
Scooter riding
Small knife collection, though too big for me
Bespoke clothes for office use
Cooking venison, sea food or something exotic
Paranoia things - prepping
Minimalism - it looks like it doesn’t work
Thinking picking up field archery again

Tinkering in my garage, target/club shooting recently, motorcycles and up until and during covid I volunteered for the bloodbikes. Playing guitars (not as much as I’d like due to lack of time)

Spending time with the wife and kids.

Music - folk music, bagpipes, piobaireachd
Fishing - salmon/trout on the fly
Cooking - goes hand in hand with venison butchery/production
Had to google piobaireachd!

I’m off to search YouTube for some examples.
Can I assume you play in a group?

If you're both singing alongside the other Mastersingers, and able to sight-read in pretty short order, you're clearly a cut above the average musically. :tiphat:

Mrs Gunn is the musician here, having studied music at Uni, worked for professional orchestras, and played continuously in amateur orchestras since school. Musicianship is a wonderful gift to have, and I regret not continuing playing
I played violin for a few years but gave it up in my mid teens. Some regret, although I’ve learnt bass guitar for the last couple of years.

I worked shifts until I retired so I’d never have been able to commit to regular rehearsals. I now spend several days a week rehearsing, practising, learning and recording. I envy the level Mrs Gunn is at…. I’m still playing catch-up in my late 50s!

Fishing
Metal detecting
Veg gardening

My father does detecting I'd admit you probably do actually know him If your in the groups across the internet he's became pretty popular In his finds.
.
I think when time comes for me to look for permissions I wont have a hard time we've already got 50+ (Probably more) Digging permissions so far across D&G I know many will be estates but quite a few will be owned land with shooting rights I bet, Deer seem pretty plentiful as well around here mostly roe what are perfect.

Since I enjoy bones and Taxidermy I've debated on starting to Paint and Carve out skulls and antlers, Carving antlers seems fun but I'm also not In a great part of the country to make it affordable by any means, Moose obviously dont exist and D&G isn't known for a fallow population either.
.
Speaking of that I'd love to go Shed hunt an estate or farm with a fallow over-abundance that seems like a good day out!

In my youth it was rugby, fast horses and shooting. Stayed shooting,, changed to fast women (any colour or creed) and fly fishing on flowing water, not much time though when keepering.
Went into wife selection, still shooting. Three later still shooting and now Carp fishing in Summer with two elderly mates. Last of Summer Wine stuff, always was known as TF horseman by the lads , now Compo.

My job was a hobby 44 years ago by this now a business and my job.
But I enjoy my garden, the bar there in😉collecting vintage antiquarian big game and deer stalking books. Original African masks. Driving my 370z. Fishing. Just bought some new beach gear.
Being at home with my other half.
Did it come with a new hairdressing kit? 😂
Could be worse, you could own the z4 😆

Sea fishing, my journey for a cod continues (plenty of decent rays though). I really want to get back in to fly fishing too but there isn't enough time in the day for that.

I do enjoy foxing and rabbiting but haven't done a great deal this year, mainly due to work 🤦

I loved my bikes, that's until the Mrs said no because of a few crashes!
Wildlife photography, as already mentioned using skills to get close enough for a good pic.

Wild Camping although it's a rarity. Camping with the dogs is also amusing 😁

I have a few acres and a largish garden to look after and a house to 'polish', painting/brickwork etc so 'free time' is short. mostly spend my time painting (watercolours) in an attempt to develop a personal style.
I bought some fly fishing stuff and am learning the game so I can use my Hardt marksman which I acquired. There is a guitar in a spare room but so far I havent ventured more than a few chords. Stalking/foxing otherwise absorb my time.

I should have added that I also do a bot of Crown Green Bowling during the season (whish starts in a few weeks time, (weather permitting) I bowl for several teams, one of which I captain.
