Well i have seen it all. An advertised near £3000 bespoke Mini deer larder. LANDIG (9000). It arrived Thursday and what a piece of crap. This is not ready to take deer its just a big plastic fridge there is nothing deer about it accept the price. The backs open cant move it to clean under it and no deer bars unless you pay a further £200 plus. Sorry but no matter the discount this is just a piece of plastic does not do any more than your fridge from Curry,s or Argos. PS No bloody light don't they realise that deer stalkers managers arrive home in the dark. Stick with your coca cola type fridges they beat this bit of kit hands down. Shame on them for selling there government such a pour laid out product.

Rant over

I looked at the Landig website and thought the lower-end models looked just like domestic fridges

Marketing & packaging will make you a millionaire, Rodney.

A Landig (or similar) is on my wish wist so I’m quite interested in people’s views on the product be they positive or negative. So the questions below are not an implicit argument against your views, they are asked just to better inform me when I make my own choice.

You said it's 'bespoke' - in what way, I'm aware there's a few options but nothing that I'd consider 'bespoke'.

You mentioned the unit can’t be moved to clean under it - as I understand it, the 9000 is on short legs so what prevents the moving / cleaning?

You said it's not ready to take deer & without “deer bars” - I think a third rail is an option but didn't it come with a couple of rails installed anyway?

It obviously fell short of your expectations - but what were you expecting relative to what you got?

Happy to share my opinion on Landig Game Fridges and freezers having had access to the entire range from the LU4500 right up to the LU11000.

You’re spot on with the rail. Comes as standard with the optional extra rail.

Feel free to ping me a message if you want to chat about them…….

@Game Larder can also provide exact info any any of the range.

Where did you buy it from? What you’re describing doesn’t sound like a genuine LU9000.

I like my L11000, plus I got the 50% grant you readily dismissed previously.

I have a couple of cheap strip lights still to fit.

I just need a few more gambrels! (6 roe and a red in the pic)
That looks like its stainless steel and looks like a proper deal 50% of what . Now i paid Just short of £3000 now that's a lot of cash to lay out for a rec stalker. Not sure what your unit cost but 3000 for a large plastic fridge. With a 50% discount its still a rip off. Any one wanting to be part of this deal must go for the larger units because the smaller ones are a con.

And have you complained to the manufacturers?
Yes i have and they said we need to spend a further £300 for a set of wheels and a pole. This would make it a deer larger chill. I suggested that £3000 for a Plastic fridge was not what the scheme was promoting. Basically they said tough.

They look like domestic fridges because they are. It will be returned soon as i send picks to SAOS.
Out of curiosity, how much do you think an equivalent domestic fridge like the Landig would have cost you?
I've never looked at the lower-end Landigs, only the stainless ones with the rails at the NEC Shooting Show a couple of years ago. That show was a rip-off as well...

David

That is my point, if it is a genuine Landig 9000 then you have paid £3k for a smallish fridge whereas as you say a coke fridge would almost be as good.

Mine has feet on it which provides around a 5 inch gap underneath that you could brush under if required, I’d think you could move the 9000 if you really wanted to clean under it.

Edit: so did you get the SAOS grant then?

Absolutely this ^^^
Carcasses should never be touching each other in the chiller.
The Red was the issue, it had been hanging in the garage (was 3c in the garage, chiller set at 4c) but I needed to head home so put it in the chiller for collection by the gamedealer at 7.30 the next morning.

No condensation present and carcases fine upon collection.
