Another vote for Merino wool ,but being a bit tight got mine from Aldi .Very good ,warm and dry and only £20 an item

I think that I may able to better this!. I have got quite few base layers, including merino, from mountain warehouse, and all the others....however I went into my local home bargains store the other day (4 days ago in fact) paid £4:99p and it was identical to the Trespass ones I paid £14:00p for (and were said to be half price in sale!).

I do quite a bit of fell walking, have been out twice in the last few days wearing one of these, great! so much so I have bought 2 more!
