Best boots for £300?

Evening all.

I'm looking for some really decent boots. They'll be worn daily in Northern Scotland so waterproofing and ankle support is an absolute must. I have a budget of £300.

I'm hoping to get a pair that go up the ankles a bit (if that makes sense).

Anything I should look into/avoid? Cheers. :)

You could consider Salomon Tundra winter boots

I’m on second pair - their warranty is good which is why I’m on second pair ,,,

Very warm and comfortable- the first pair developed a fault a few weeks ago (20 months into ownership

A few pictures on their warranty claim area if the web site and 48 hrs later I have nee boots

Can’t complain about that

Why do you want 2 lots of membrane in there? Gtx plus sealskinz is unnecessary.
Sometimes inspite of the boots water does get in, espescially walking in snow. Once your feet are wet on a cold day, its uncomfortable. So its just a personal preference and the socks can go with other shoes as well.

Just got a pair of these, they have stiff soles so are great for walking on side slopes and using the toe to climb steeper sections. That give far more support than a traditional high leather hunting boot especially when it’s soaked.
Not seen them mentioned on here before.

Combined with a good pair of gaiters my feet have been dry after walking up becks and through bogs.

Before uni I used to work in outdoor instructing and mountain leading. Always used Scarpa stuff and they fit my feet well. I had previously used Salomon and loved them for comfort just not for durability or grip on rock.
As guys said above there are many good brands - Scarpa, lowa, meindl, zamberlan.
I would find a good shop or a good credit card to try as many different ones in different sizes as you can to see what is most comfy - especially if forking out up to £300.
(I’m also a Physio so would see a number of people with foot and ankle related injuries, so can speak from that side too..)

Thanks! My employer will be buying them on my behalf, (thus the £300 budget hehe). Unfortunately, there aren't too many shops that stock boots up here in Orkney for some reason, so I'll just hope they fit when they arrive or they break-in to my foot shape nicely.

I have a pair of the Moorland Dedito boots and have done for 5 years now. I'm a bit idle when it comes to caring for my boots, these have done 5 full pheasant seasons, both days on the peg and days picking (20/30 days a season on average) up and 3 full years of stalking.

I haven't looked after them, I've shod horses in them on many a winters day & bar replacing the laces once they've been perfect.

Love the ankle and solar support they offer. I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat, if they'd be as good as this first pair who knows.
