Best fox bait

For me, cat fud and tinned tuna isn't turning their heads. Just had one trot past a post dripping in bait. Too fast a trot for me to give it a lead before it turned through a hedgerow gap. It's a puzzle. Bit annoyed about my lack of response time.

Had the same happen last week - a tin of dog food and it walked straight past it - virtually on the end of its nose
Fortunately a shout stopped it and the little 204 did the rest

Once again..............BAKERS MEATY CHUNKS Beef flavour. water resistant, lasts for ages, my dog can smell em from 40 yds away. You can cover a lot of ground with 4 handfuls like a very large tennis court. The fox will still be there in an hour. They stink.

Experimented attracting fox’s to snared areas and most of the usual stuff did the trick but found a source of whitings from a fish quay which were absolute mustard in getting their attention to travel up prevailing wind to snare alley

Thanks sounds like a good tip for shooting over will give it a whirl 👍

While I was spending a couple of hours yesterday looking at tins of fish in a field, it dawned on me that as I've not seen any cubs yet, the adults want something more portable to take back. Simple really.

This evening it will be traditionally prepared head-wound rabbit served on a gate post platter.

I'll give the Bakers Meaty chunks a go later on.

Ps. "Cat fud" is my dog's favourite Gary Larsen cartoon.

Go for it mate, in my book they're bloody lethal, work best in young cereals or grassland, then they will spend ages sniffing them out, circling around over a large area, rather than leaving a pile there to gulp down. I usually shoot on the third day after they find them, I noticed that if left for longer the fox comes earlier & earlier each night for their daily fix. Wasn't there an additive that dog & cat food manufactures use to make their product more preferable to the competion? This stuff certainly contains something irresistible! Fox crack.
They come in 2 flavours, get the beef one.

Going to get some for special occasions here and put a friend on to them who is in fox central with
none stop activity from city. Do sheep eat them fg?
Don’t know what they put in dog fud but was talking to chef about munchies in bags that we eat and how we cannot resist some for the most part and go back for more, told me what it does/ did contain that’s so addictive but cannot remember, guess it’s on packet though🤔

i have been useing boiled horse hoof clippings. that i got off Steve B over on pigeonwatch Forum
