Best full bore shooting club within drive of Bristol

Hello,

I'm looking to join a full bore shooting club within a reasonable drive of Bristol. I know about joining the NRA at Bisley and I have swapped an email with Kentucky Firearm club (hampshire)
I'm not sure exactly the difference between joining Bisley directly and a group like Kentucky Firearm Club since they also seem to shoot at Bisley?

The Kentucky firearm club seem very friendly and open to new members but I'm just not as interested in the practical shooting/action shooting discipline and more interested in target/long range/ precision shooting. ( with .22LR and Full bore ideally to practice without breaking the bank while also gaining some experience with centerfire)

Willing to drive.... not looking for it right on my doorstep. Any suggestions much appreciated!

Best,
Tom

Can't help on the local ranges knowledge but joining the NRA as an individual member means you can book targets there when you like, as opposed to joining an NRA-affiliated club that shoots at Bisley ever so often.

I would recommend looking into other more target oriented-clubs, as you have to get through the probationary membership and if you are not really committed to the main aspect of the club, it may not be what you really want.

There are some clubs that may be close to you here:

A big shout out for Richard at Severnside Range at Rogiet Moor, Magor. It’s the old Army Apprentice College range that was cut short when they built the second M4 bridge. It’s not Bisley but Richard is old school and runs 100m/200m shoots on Wednesday and Saturdays (some Sundays too if things ever get back to normal). Very basic facilities but you can do most forms of target shooting at ranges up to 200m. Works well for me👍

Precision rifle...........British Sporting Rifle Clubs Prairie Dog competition shot at 1000 yards on Stickledown........only a select few are permitted to wear the tie.
