Best magazine for Tikka T3X?

Hi All,

I wanted to know what the best make of magazine is for the Tikka T3x.

I’m aware that there are a few options available from different manufacturers.

Is the Tikka branded one the best or would you recommend something else?

I’m looking at 10 round .308 magazines in particular.

Thanks.
Danny.

I have a 5-rd Waters Rifleman magazine, and it is day vs night to the Tikka mags.
The original 10-round WR mags were less good, but they have done several interations since I had one, so if I were in your shoes, I would definitely want to try one.
Worth being aware that, being single stack, they sit a long way below the stock: more like a 20-rd SLR mag!

Thanks for the info. So if the single stack, would the 10 round one work when shooting prone?

Honestly? You might have problems - depends on your position.
Absolutely fine with a bipod of any height, but a really low prone (unsupported) might see you snag the magazine on occasion

The quality of the newest generation WR magazines is stunning, though

I give you the 30 round L1A1/Bren magazine 😎

On a serious note though, if you want a higher capacity T3 magazine then think about swapping to a CTR bottom metal & magazine which is a double stack system so doesn't stick out too far. Or go with one of the various AICS magazine set ups.

Their ..223 mags are shockingly bad, sleeved down .308/6.5CM mags that just don’t work well.

The .308 mags are a bit shonky but do work
Ahh, fair enough... I've only ever had 308-based ones (243, 6.5cm and 308) and always found them functional if not exactly refined. I'd really like it if you could top them up without removing from the action, but Ho-hum
