Yes Paul they are Remington clone as in same footprint, but a world apart from Rem in terms of quality and manufacturing precision.

I’m sure your BAT HR so long as it’s a repeater (removable mag) and any Borden would stand alongside the other actions available

The zermat action has the design feature of allowing end user to swap bolt heads (so flexible for 223, 308, WSM if you were to purchase a short action) for instance using just one rifle action, stock and scope

The Impact 737r is designed on the Rem footprint but has tolerances to allow it to work pretty well in any condition yes still remain capable of Benchrest accuracy

Have to say I like them

But I prefer my Accuracy International ATX and my PgWDTI Coyote which are both proven in any condition with BR accuracy - but both are not really in the PrS hall of fame list

Really interesting to see all the replies and suggestions.

I think it’s probably best if I first get a mag fed .308 for NRA target competitions and then gradually attend some prs events, come last, and then take it from there.

I’ve just turned 50, so maybe by the time I get competitive I will be in the senior section, which I’m fine with.

I’ll look out for Tikka/Rem 700 rifles in the used section and see how it goes.
