Binocular Harness

Is there a big difference between all the brands that make one better than the other? I’m assuming they will fit any type but notice the swaro one is £40 and the vortex one is £19 and they look very similar.

Also - do people see a big improvement using the harness over the neck strap and does it get in the way of the sling/pockets etc?

I did see that nice have aRoe buck bound off across a field as I was crawling into it on my hands and knees with my binos pushed around on my back - they fell off and hit the scope sun shade and made a ring that would have Quasimodo shouting his usual catch phrase!

I use Decathlons harness with Monarchs, cover together they work well ,but i improved on the :security: by fitting a seafishing weight ring each side to clip the harness to.
The hands free access is a boost over hanging them around your neck and the Monarch cover keeps rain and carp off very well as theyr,e made to suit the size of your bino,s .

I use an Athlon as below. Fits tight to the chest and keeps the binos safe and clean. Never had it drop out whilst crawling.

I’ve just got some vortex fury’s and am using the harness bag thing they come in, I really like it. Great protection and practical. I’m slightly more of a faff than a regular set up but I tend to use the thermal more and just pop out the glasses to ID deer.

I’d prefer one that keeps the binoculars out, not a carry case - seems like some of them are a bag to put the binos in.

I like bag ones the monarch ones have noisy Velcro at least my friends does. Bag ones protect binos no lens caps and all that faff plus some handy pockets.

Another plus one for the bino harness, my Sig Kilo bins came with their own harness and I'm really impressed with it. Highly adjustable and very secure fit.

I have the Swaro harness. I won it In a raffle cos I’m too tight to pay the full price. However, I find it is good. I wear it under my jacket and the binos on the outside. So if I need to crawl (yeah, like I’m ever going to do that ) I can stuff them inside my jacket out of the way. They also support the weight across the shoulders as I am a delicate little flower.
the cheap ones with the plastic clips will do the same thing but because the plastic clip is rubbish if it gets bent the wrong way it can actually unclip itself. Had the same problem when I used to go diving. (Not with my binos).

a decent make from another brand will be just as good I sure. It is all in the design rather than the price. :)
