Was there actually crowd trying to push them back in the Sea ?With all that blubber and oil and lycra flopping around on the sand ! I can agree I could make them out or could I define the species they could have even been pilot whales .
Yup.. Their Bison burgers are great. Not a news story in my eyes...There's been bison in Corwen, North Wales, for years. Lord Newborough has a herd on the Rhug Estate. If this lot in Kent are to be behind a fence then I can't see what the fuss is about - not significantly different from what we've got already.
However, if they were to be genuinely free-ranging then that's a different story altogether, and worthy of note.
Maybe owing a .375 H&H Magnum in the UK might become a reality after all in about a decade or so.
I had one from their takeaway a fortnight ago on my way home from holiday.Yup.. Their Bison burgers are great. Not a news story in my eyes...
Lol, hope the assault cows keeps the antis away. Maybe they can form a circle around the assault cow holding hands to save it and I will be reaching out for my camera.
I have seen these Bison in the flesh. I use to stay in Bloemendaal when I used to visit Amsterdam on business, and have walked in the national park there. The Bison are free ranging and seem quite unbothered by people. I am sure if you bothered them, or got between a mother and a calf they could get quite cheeky. But no more or less aggressive than other free ranging cattle / bovids.I'm no expert on the European bison ('Bonarus' it tells me here) but the Dutch experience belies this.

Return of the bison: herd makes surprising comeback on Dutch coast
Endangered species can thrive in habitats other than forests, paving way for their returnwww.theguardian.com
No better or worse than hitting any of the free ranging horses, ponies, cattle or red, sika or fallow deer. The forest would be great for them. But they would wreck any car that hit one. But it might be a good habitat- heathland and woodland. Is Poland a little like that? Germany is.
Steady on old chap! This may blow your minds, as some of you lads shoot coyote sized deer with a 375… but a 308 or 30-06 are just fine for even the largest bison in the world.![]()

They mean the first one since BrexitReally? This says this is the first UK introduction.![]()
‘Gentle giants’: rangers prepare for return of wild bison to UK
Animals arrive in Kent in spring 2022 and will create forest clearings – described as ‘jet fuel for biodiversity’www.theguardian.com
Hang onto your hat! I’m gonna shoot a moose with a 6.5 creedmoor next month.Steady on old chap!
Next you will be trying to convince us that .243Win is actually "enough gun" for Red Deer and that feral pigs will die if shot with less than .270.....![]()
Coming on OK . . an update on this.Saw this in the news today and I am curious as to how this will go. Maybe owing a .375 H&H Magnum in the UK might become a reality after all in about a decade or so. Hope they do spread in the years to come as they are really amazing animals and might encourage the walkers to stick to the footpath.
