Help needed

Was changing to .22LR on my r8 and a piece flew off

Don’t know where from, what it does, nor where it goes

Any suggestions??

I was thinking along those lines

I’ve sent a similar question to Blaser

I once saw a video of the bolt carrier being disassembled and reassembled

Talk about 50,000 rivets flying in close formation!!

The thing has about 200 parts 😳

Like this? Jesus, that's complicated 😟

I've just had a thought. It wouldn't engage the spring from the barrel side, by any chance?

I've never even held a Blaser though, so I'm just guessing.

Edit. Scratch the above idea. It's nonsense. I didn't understand how the bolt head was assembled until I checked a YouTube video. Does that wee part actually sit inside the bolt body itself? With the spigot centering the spring itself? If that's not it I'll eat my hat!

Two best suggestions thus far is the end of the .22LR barrel

It has a rather complex arrangement and it could be a guide for the round

The other is a guide for the firing pin spring assembly on the bolt carrier

I shall check it out tomorrow

Blaser were ‘less than useful’

So it is down to my expert gunsmithing skills which I’d describe as ‘un-gifted amateur’

I do hope the problem is with the .22LR barrel, as that just takes one calibre out of action

The bolt carrier being bugger*d takes out 4 calibres

I just sent an update to Blaser indicating that I’m not hugely impressed by their initial response

They are the experts

I’d expect a little support from someone on the team
