Blaser Binoculars

For those of you who may be after a new set of non RF binoculars. I was at Moy Game Fair today and R Macleod (Tain) had some Blaser 8x and 10x Blaser Binoculars there. I must admit for £995 they are optically fantastic.(may be a show price only?). I have no affiliation, but i must admit they seem a superb deal for the price!

They had a muted review on Allbinos.com ...least I think that is where I read it...he was saying they were very nice but were in the same league as binoculars at half the price....but he was quoting a retail price of €2000 euros so at £995 they should be par for the course.

Maybe someone else read his review at Blaser!

Yes it was Allbinos

expect these are someoneelses optics rebranded.

How was Moy - always wanted to go but never managed yet
It was the usual with regards to stall quality, I shot very well on the Clay's today and basically broke even with the days cost so cant complain.

The weather was exceptional.

Honestly, the clarity and optical quality easily up there with my Swaro RF.... in fact they have a higher light transmission.

Muted wasn't quite the right word...but if you look at the review he thought the binoculars were good quality and well designed and made, but was going on about the pricing...not unusual for reviews of Blaser Products!

Made by Minox which Blaser own. Can’t see them being better light transmission than Swarovski RF at 97%

But I’m prepared to be corrected. I’ve had a go with them and don’t rate them which is unusual for me as I’m a Blaser but.

It's a pity they seem to have skimped on the design/execution of the internals (false pupills are unforgivable) as the housing design and materials are very pleasing to my eye.

I too had read somewhere that they were made by Minox but I don't know if that information is correct.

I have a pair of Vortex binoculars and the general similarity in design with them and the binoculars in the link above is quite striking to me. If you told me that some of the components were the same and that only cosmetic changes were made I may even be inclined to believe you. Needless to say the Vortex binoculars are considerably cheaper but none the less are reasonable quality.

The Blaser optics are designed by German Sport Optics ( GSO German Sports Optics ) which is part of the Blaser Group. It is speculated that they are manufactured by Minox which is also owned by Blaser. This would make sense, though there is no official statement in this respect.
At a price of 995 pounds they are a real bargain, which puts them on par with Minox. And this is where they belong IMHO.

97% transmission for a RF binocular???? Do you mean 91%
