Blaser K95

So I’m still waiting on the 10 one
Liners fella to explain why these rifles are so ridiculous? It’s been a month!!!
Stalking in its purest form, elegant rifles, lightweight, accurate, well built, easy to store and transport, far lighter to carry on long stalks, a rifle for life. I suppose a negative could be you don't have a 5 round magazine and one in the chamber to take down 6 deer in one sitting.... But I've never had to do that. Anyone that's said to me it's a bad idea and not practical, soon changes their mind once they pick it up and shoot it.

this may be controversial... but does anyone have informed view of why these rifles cost so much? They seem relatively simple (untrained eye and i'm admitting it before we go bananas).

Blaser / Merkel are made in Germany premium brands which I get. However, I would have thought manufacturing the K95 would be easier than a R8..? Parking expensive options aside (wood, engraving and so on) I wonder if it's just a low volume premium. Or just a supply / demand cost i.e. people are willing to pay. Basically, I would be interested what the cost of manufacturing is on one of these vs. their other cheaper models.
I ask the same if shot guns why they are often much more expensive than rifles. I guess that the engineering in break barrels is harder than in solid in line bolt rifles.

Must be. Most shotguns have the excuse having 2 barrels though although presumably more goes into a rifle barrel than a smooth bore shotgun. Although I can imagine the shotgun makers screaming at that assertion

Elitism, with the exception of the cheaper end of the market like Baikal single shots. Possibly also that there is less demand so fewer units made and sold???

Some beautiful rifles gents....green with envy any just goes to show that functionality always the only consideration with rifles - anyone who says otherwise is missing the point in my opinion!

the stutzens are especially eye catching to me!

enjoy!

Gixer

You either get why people want a "kipplauf", or you don't.

If you're out to shoot as many deer as possible, it's not for you, Kipplauf owners want a very different experience when they are out.

I wonder how much some peoples opinions are influenced by the cost, or if the time it takes to load another round, really is an issue for them ?

ok thanks i aiready use a single shot rifle and yes id love one but not in that lovely wood its to nice for me i would destroy it thank bs

I’ve used a K95 in Austria a couple of times and as a result probably have a romantic opinion on them now. But if money was no object and I could in anyway justify it one would become a ‘go to’ Sunday rifle for roebucks on a warm summer evening.......

I’ll just leave this kipplauf porn here......

There's no issue in loading another round for a second shot, so taking hind and calf is not a problem, or any other second deer.
A K95 is superbly accurate. But then again, many other rifles are too... but, the K95 is a stand out rifle for a superb hunting experience in so many ways.
My go to rifle for 17 years now, hmmmm.... I'd never be without it.

Thanks deeangeo ! Beautiful rifle!

I really like the older style K95 Luxus. When placing the order, I had the possibility to choose between the older style encraved receiver with sideplates and the newer receiver with laser encravings. The decicion was quite easy for me, because I really like more about the 3d-stylish sideplates than modern laser encraving. In my opinion, the older version is more "classy".

I love my k95 in 6.5x55 shoots incredibly well. I think the rail mount 1-8x24 Swarovski complements the rifle anything bigger spoils the look. The magnification is more than enough for deer stalking and as for light gathering I shot a deer one morning 2 minutes into legal light. If I’m culling for numbers then its out with the R8 but a k95 is just a nicer experience
