Bleaching heads

Cheap bottle of peroxide from Asda…£3ish and will do several heads…

Get the head cleaned as very best you can and lather it on with an old paint brush avoiding the antler itself but all the nooks & crannies

Sorgene from your local agricultural supplier. But be careful, it's potent stuff. But works exceedingly well.

How are you using the sorgene? Neat or dilute? Just paint it on?
I use it for disinfecting stuff around the farm. Never tried it for heads though.

So you know (or anyone else) if Milton does the same? It’s chlorine based and will apparently bleach clothes etc, just wondered if they were fundamentally similar products?

Truzone off Amazon mixed with climbers chalk into a thick paste, brush on leave in sun.
Trouble with the really strong stuff if left in too long it can start to dissolve the head

Make sure you keep the head wet right up until you put the bleach on.
If you let it dry out first you will never get it really white.

Industrial - 35%

Eye protection and heavy duty gloves are a must !
No need to go over 12% Just take a look at this thread from back in the day. DANGERS of working with Strong PEROXIDE .. a read and learn article Seriously dangerous stuff after 30%.
6% Is ideal for home situations (12% If you want to dilute) I was able to work with it gloveless completely fine, Did develop some whiteness around my fingers but I was also working with it for 3+ days!

Anyway I recommend This Ebay Seller the only disadvantage Is there product arrives in a clear tub so It has to be stored In a dark space, Handy tub after you've used it up though!
6% 5l = £15
9% 5l = £18
6% 25l = £45
9% 25L = £64
.
Some great prices for the amount of product, Also reminder that peroxide degrades with heat and releases dangerous fumes.... no need to boil your skulls in it for 95% of scenarios.

Okay, so I used the hair bleach / cheap stuff for a while and it left an off colour,(slight pink tinge).

12% peroxide off eBay,(comes up listed as food grade) and soak it for 12 hours and it’s much better.

After reading that and other manufacturer’s warnings I’m gonna resist purchasing the stronger stuff:
“Super high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide, like 50% and 70% and 90%, are used for some industrial purposes, and as rocket fuel. The higher the percentage of peroxide, the more dangerous it is, and the more special handling it takes.”
