Bloody Back

I wouldn't let either and osteopath or a physio touch me (that's now, I learnt the hard, expensive way). A good physio will give you exersises to do which will relieve and help.
The best bet is to take anti inflammitories and hope the prolapse 'slips' back in. Look on back related medical websites for best info and beware of the clicking and crunching brigade!

No chance of a true prolapse 'slipping back in'!!

Need a decent MRI scan, with someone who knows what they are looking at to report it, nad then a decent spinal surgeon/spinal pain man to sort out the treatment!

Regards

I had a slipped disk 13 years ago, L5, S1 tried the medication and osteopaths with no joy, best thing I done was have the operation to trim the disc, went to the royal national orthapedic hospital in Stanmore,London consultant surgeon was Yan Lahovsky look him up online hes one of the countrys leading surgeons. had afew nigling pains over the years but nothing serious, out most weekends running three times a week and still going strong.

Thats what I am waiting for. GP refered me on Friday so should hear soon.
Sav you lucky having having a centre like that cclose to you I think I will have to make do with Hull Royal even if I go private I think I will be having it locally.

Still no rush now as smullery has just sent me 10 stalking titles to be getting on with.

I have managed to slip 2 disks in my back and totally f**ked it so I have spent the past week in the prone position.
Used my time productively with some mammoth SD sessions (and some other random field sports sites AusHunt is worth a read (some pretty cool hunting goes on down under) and the infighting of the terrier and lurcher lads on the hunting life is entertaining) and read Richard Prior's Roe Deer and Duff Hart-Davies amongst the deer cover to cover twice.
Looks like I am going to be stuck like this for a while longer so if any one has any suggestions of good stalking related books that are readily available or any other sites where I can pass some time suggestion would be appreciated.
Just hoping that i am fit enough for the rut starting (and baby is due end of july but priorities!).
Cheers
Paul

You saying its all your fault then Colin and if only I had dragged the calf I would be ok!!!
Surely dragging has got to be good exercise for your core muscles and therefore for good for backs:roll: think I will need to incorporate it into my rehab this autumn.

Hows the ankle doing?

There is no pain like it - you have my sympathy.

If you can at all walk and move around, do so - lying down makes it worse in the long run, because you lose the tone in your abdominal muscles, which help hold things in place in your back. I found that, even though to begin with it was excrutiatingly painful (so painful you feel you're going to pass out painful), doing pilates-type exercises to build up core muscles really helped. That and walking around on soft sand.

Swimming also helps a lot.
