Hi, trying to remember what the spray antiseptic that turns blue is called, I had a look online but the o U.K. ones I am finding is in the USA, I used it on my Labrador years ago but have they stopped selling it here in the U.K.? Is alpha silver the same?

our springer ripped a good portion of one pad off her foot and it looks sore so I want to get it sprayed as soon as possible.

thanks in advance for any help.

regards,
Gixer

This is the offending pad damage…nothing major but it must be uncomfortable and she’s limping.

That’s the one. Sheep farmers normally buy it by the case from their agri vets for foot rot and similar:

Our Longdogs are always doing that, trying to cut the Squirrels off at the pass, concrete is not very friendly to pads when they are going at warp factor 9 on a bend. Salt water bathing is what fixes ours.

I used to get a product called "cut and heal" I think you can still get it in an aerosol but the best stuff was in a bottle with a sponge dabber in the lid, I believe its unavailable now though unfortunately..
Dam shame as I'd love another bottle as it worked wonders.

AP Supplies aerosol Stockholm Tar is very good for minor injuries as well. I would have thought iodine might be the best bet though

The one I have used over the years is "Dr, Naylor BLU-KOTE". It sprays on blue. It is very good for cuts etc. on animals. I even spray it on myself.

I've found that 'Silver salve' or whatever its called these days that horsey folk use is brilliant at healing most wounds!
