Hello my name is Ola im a Swedish hunter live in the south of Sweden and hunt mostly wildboar, i have shoot hundreds. Also hunt roedeer and moose. Got some huntingdogs. Looking forward to meet hunters from UK or scotland to swap some hunts with.

What calibres do you use for boar ?

I have used differnt kalibers. From 6,5x55 and upp to 9,3x62. I have shoot plenty of boar with 30-06. Now i use a Tikka T3 Varmint in kaliber 308W, with a trijicon 5-20x50 if a go out stalking and if a hunt with my dogs i use a Browning BAR semiautomatic in kaliber 30-06 with a "reddot sight".

It dosent matter what caliber you use over 6,5x55 if you hit it the right way. But its "hard" animals, and you should give them respect because theuy can be dangers.

I shoot a 100kilo boar in just 4meters last weekend for one of the dogs. 3 hits in the lungs, it run around 70meters and still was alive after a few minutes so i finshed it with the knife.
