Bog deathgrip

now thats something i never thought about, when you mentioned leveling it up i thought to myself, whats it matter, just adjust it on the ball head, but obviously the death grip only tilts back and forth and spins 360, making it actually no use to me whatsoever really, think i may just look for a more sturdy camera tripod and use my ball head and clamp, it may be a cheap one of ebay but clamps well so far,

I've been using the basic aluminium Bog for about 6 months. It's been out several times a week, almost always after dark when walking around my permissions foxing/rabbiting/ratting
It provides a stable easy to deploy platform, being able to leave the rifle mounted whilst scanning with the thermal or calling are it's best attribute.
When I've used quad sticks for foxing I've struggled with the restriction on your horizontal/panning movement, definitely not at issue with the Bog.
They are a bit weighty and in hindsight it might have been worth looking at the carbon fibre version, but I've got used to carrying them, holding the foam section keeps the cold from effecting your hand.
Definitely pleased with my purchase, would I use them for stalking?.......no. Quad sticks yes.

My triggerstix froze up solid during the nightime foxing, I was unable to alter the sticks at the most inopportune moment, I will be utilising the bog tripod until the spring in future.

No dont get the Bog Deathgrip. I have one and I have got a few issues with it.
You need one with a ball joint. This allows a level platform irrelavent of the terrain the tripod is on.

I would also say, it depends what you are using it for.
Stalking defo quad sticks.
They are just less faff!
Let me know how much you want for it

all of a sudden my manfrotto doesnt do such a bad job 😁
as much as i like spending money on shooting gear £350 -£500 is a lot for a tripod,

I just bought a vanguard endeavour L303AGM tripod from optics warehouse for £239.99 on sale.
Set it up today for the first time with the tikka 22 and I'm quite impressed with it.
It has the bowl type adjustment so leveling it up is easy.
I never shot off a tripod before but after shooting a bit with it I'm happy enough. It's not as stable as my 5 leg viperflex sticks but I don't think any tripod would be.
I shot these two 8 shot groups at 50 yards off it.

thanks, they look a decent tripod, decent price too,

just went on optics warehouse website to buy the vanguard endeavour L303AGM tripod which said it was £239,99 is actually minus VAT, F^%$£$G hate people who advertise things without VAT, over £300 with VAT and delivery, not as attractive at that,

Carbon fibre one still heavy.Nothing better though for ambushing foxes.

I recently bought the bog death grip. I’m very pleased with it. You don’t wanna be carrying it far though as everyone has mentioned this already. The bog death grip is ideal when you’re scanning with the thermal ,calling foxes or scanning with the binoculars. Most of the time you will still use the quad sticks.

For walking and stability, cannot beat quad sticks.. I'd ignore all the promoted youtubers, just go and buy a good Innorel Tripod if tripods are your thing..

I own x3 Quad sticks, Primos, x2 Tripods. I use 80% of the time Quad sticks, 15% Primos for Rats, 5% tripod when occasionally sitting out the back of the vehicle, although I normally just shoot off the bonnet, theres a lot of promotion of them, a bit like carp bait unless sitting and waiting in one spot is what you love.. I'd grab quads over them all..

a few of the fields i shoot rabbits in i can stand in the middle on a bit of a hump near a fence and shoot rabbits all round ranging from 40-100 yards, so my rifle on a tripod is ideal for me, i can leave it there whilst i scan with the thermal, and swing the rifle round where it needs to be, then onto the next field all in 1, easy, will try some quad sticks though one day 👍
