bog deathgrip

Fo you have a tripod,I have the full kit I'd sell, manfrotto tripod, ball head and bog grip

Does that fit straight on?
I did a bit of a simple workaround.
Pretty much this one.

BOG Tripod - Change bracket to Ball Head

OK, I'm gonna describe here (hopefully) how to do it, I am NOT the "guy" who figured this out, it was another member here (I didnt mention his screen name because Im not sure he wants to get alot of messages and emails about how to do this since he already helped me alot- you know who you are if you're reading this so thanks again brother!)

NOTE: For purposes to establish what I'm talking about- the tripod mount base of the tripod (where the 3 legs meet) Lets call this the base of the tripod. (the 4" long vertical tube)

STEP 1. Turn tripod upside down- Underneath the base, there's a small hex screw....look close!! I missed it more than once!! it is covered by a small hex cap, so remove the cap and then remove the screw - careful to catch the pieces as they come apart. The entire piece is all colored black which makes it harder to see.

STEP 2. Turn tripod right side up. Now that you removed the hex screw, Pull off the top mounting bracket (where the rifle sits in) from the top. At the top and bottom of the base is a round piece (looks bowl shaped with hole in bottom) that fits into the base like a hub and a wheel on a car. The top one has a clamp over it. Unscrew and remove the clamp. The ball bearings rest in the round pieces so the tripod base can move 360 round. Now pull off the 2 round pieces (and their guts) off the base. Now you're looking at the base which is like a 4" vertical empty tube.

STEP 3. Buy a 3/8" by 5.5" long bolt with nut and with the loop at bottom (use loop + carabiner to hold weight to keep tripod sturdy if needed) and (4) 1.5" washers (see my picture) and a ball head (I choose the Demon Demon DB-44)

STEP 4. Use the 2 aforementioned round pieces (remove ball bearings, you dont need them) and add 2 spacers to each round piece. The spacers fit into the round piece perfectly to guide your bolt and keep it all aligned. Any other "guts" previously mentioned you don't need. One round piece goes on top of the base and one at the bottom. Stick the 3/8" by 5" long bolt (from bottom) up into the tripod base and let the threads of the bolt go into your ball head. Use nut to limit how much of bolt goes into ball head and tighten. Should be good to go.

SAVE ALL UNUSED pieces in case you want to switch back to original BOG Deathgrip!!
