Bone growth on skull

So I took this sika earlier this year and when I was skinning it, to make a euro mount. I found it had a large infected abscess, in the middle of its head. On skinning it out however the infection was due to what looked like bone growth. Just wondering if anyone has ever seen this before? I also assumed the meat is fine to eat as its glands seemed infection free ?

If the bone was infected, it would try and heal like any other tissue and got a bit over excited. If you hadn't shot it, I suspect that would have remodelled and been less obvious

Thanks ,boiled it picked it with a forceps and peroxide bleached it. Then used school glue to seal it
