Bore guide advice

I'm looking for a bore guide/s for Sako 75 in 6.5 and Tikka T3 in .308

Q1 Do I need 2 separate guides?

Q2 Do I go for a model which has a lube channel/slot?

Thanks

re Q1: Measure the bolt diameters of both. This should answer the question.

re Q2: Definitely yes. A solvent port makes things so much easier. And if it doesn't have one, you can drill it youself.

FWIW I replaced all of my generic bore guides with action / chambering specific jobs from The Shooting Shed and I will NEVER revert to a standard shop-bought job again. They are an absolute thing of beauty.

For similar outlay you are getting what is in essence a custom bore guide. For me it is a no-brainer.

Absolutely no connection whatsoever with the shop, simply a very happy customer.

Edit: And yes, a solvent port makes things a lot easier...

The Shooting Shed website lists bore guides but seems to come to a dead end when you follow a rifle brand for details. It may be me.....

I second the Shooting Shed. Quality bore guide custom made to fit, and last.
If you've got any questions just phone them.

I didn't the same. They have changed their website, there's a link on that page if you click on it, it will take you to the new website.

Never used a bore guide in fifty plus years of cleaning centrefire and rimfire rifles. Another pointless gimmick like "bolt holsters" that solves a problem that doesn't exist. Remove bolt, insert rod carrying phosphor bronze brush, or wool mop, or jag from the breech end and clean, oil, dry out as required. Yes if you clean from the muzzle and over muzzle cap might be useful...think Winchester 94 rifles, Martini action rifles, etc. But otherwise save your money IMHO.

Simply makes the job easier and a well fitting oring will prevent crud from running back into the action .
I suspect if Shooting Shed don't list one for your rifle they'd make one if you provided the chambering and bolt diameter .
