This is, please, NOT intended to be a thread on the whys, wherefores, and whatevers of the Brexit decision. But only please any useful official source info or accurate anecdotal info re post 31 January.

I get the link below as I am on the British Consulate "Living in France" information list. But this "Living in Europe" may be useful to some even if "just visiting" as it gives info on E111 and Driving Licences. I also spoke today 30 January with Leicestershire Police Firearms Licensing who told me that the European Firearms Pass remains valid for the present foreseeable future.

Can the UK still play EuroMillions after Brexit?

However the EuroMillions Jackpot is not reliant on the UK’s membership of the EU. British citizens will still be able to take part in the EuroMillions draw.

Participants do not need to live in an EU country to buy tickets and Switzerland has taken part since October 2004 despite not being an EU member.

In the UK, the agreement to run EuroMillions is between the National Lottery and the official lottery operators of eight other participating countries.

Therefore the UK will remain a part of the EuroMillions family regardless of the nation’s EU status.

The Home Office have kindly sent the HBSA the following update confirming that the UK EFP remains valid.

Brexit and EFP

The UK will leave the EU on 31 January and we thought it would be helpful to send you a quick note setting out what this means for the European Firearms Pass.

After 31 January there will be a transition period until the end of 2020, while the UK and EU negotiate additional arrangements. The current rules on trade, travel, and business for the UK and EU will continue to apply during the transition period.

This means that during the transition period the current arrangements for EFPs will continue: EFPs should still be issued to certificate holders and should still be produced in support of visitors permits. As now, import and export licences will not be required for people travelling to and from the EU with the firearms/shotguns that are entered on their EFP and UK firearm/shotgun certificate.

During the transition period, negotiations will take place on a future partnership between the UK and the EU. We will be in touch with further information about this and what it means for EFPs nearer the end of the transition period.
