British Shooting Show 2025 £££££

Dickie I think that it may be the other way around, have you seen the prices on caravans and motor homes?
And they are a money pit that loose money at a pretty alarming rate, at least you can't say that about guns if you buy wisely and look after them.
That’s why I added :rofl: :rofl:

The last time I went to the Shooting Show it was elbow-to-elbow with either:

a) Tyre-kickers;

b) People who just wanted to get TikTok pictures of themselves " 'Oldin' a magnum, innit blud?" , or;

c) Morbidly-obese ****badgers in head-to-toe RealTree failing to control over-caffeinated spaniels.

I shan't be bothering again: Stalking Show all the way.

How can they charge +£5.30 vat? Ticket prices have always previously included vat @£25.. I think they decided to shaft loyal supporters by increasing the price by 20% thinking we won’t notice… I won’t be going… I went last year..

Imagine your Tesco shopping with +20% at checkout🙄

I'm going to Canada for four weeks this year and that's exactly what they do in the shops! And bars! And restaurants! Everything is plus tax

Unlike a game fair, there is far less to see (ie sit down and watch) so I feel that I am paying to just look at the products.
If there is something I want and am wanting to compare it, then I may be willing to pay, but otherwise, no thanks. (I went to the first few at Stonleigh Park and it was far better.)
My OH shoots as well, so 2 x tickets and travel, you are looking at 80 quid before you spend anything there and it is generally no cheaper than the internet.

I know people knock the 'sales' stands selling house goods at the shows but they keep the ticket cost, unless you are in BASC when say the game fair is free.

The stalking show is the one I am willing to pay for. Have been every year and enjoy it, usually sit eating my sarnies and having my flask while watching the cooking demo.

Campervans can be quite cheap if you buy one with misappropriatiated political donations 👍🏻

Any organised event these days costs a packet. For example if you are fortunate enough to source a ticket to watch an international rugby game at (the venue previously called) Twickenham it'll be around £120 for a very average seat. Even a ticket at a premiership rugby game such as Harlequins is minimum £50+.

And really, organisations will only charge what people will pay, or the customers simply won't come. So it is, as they say, what it is. All you can do is either not go or suck it up, buttercup.
