Brno Model 2 E rear iron sight mount removal.

Before I take the stock off - does anyone know if the sight mount for the rear iron sight can be removed easily on a Brno Model 2 E?

It was the forward action mount on mine, attached to the barrel by a cross pin. I filed off the mount and contoured it to a barrel band.

It looked nice alas that was 30 years ago and the rifle is now sold.

if it has a cross pin, drift it out and remove the tangent ladder sight. If it doesn’t, push the ladder sight down hard and forwards and it will pop out. The ‘base’ is on a ring shouldering a recess on the barrel and sweated on, so that won’t come off

You can easily remove the tangent laser sight, but it the base for it as it’s soldered onto a barrel ring

Sorry, double post !

No problem - I had taken out the ladder sight already but it was the base - it’s ok though. I moved the scope back a bit and it seems to be ok. Thanks for the input folks. 👍🏻

I did exactly the same except I milled it off and reblued it. a bit permanent but never shot the rifle with open sights and never planned to so have not missed it.

I got my mod2 years ago, it was chopped down to 12.5” already. The rear sight was already missing all its components and only the base ring remained. It is the second stock fixing but I took mine off and only use the one screw (front screw on the trigger guard).
