Brock and Norris

I have also had excellent service from Mike. When OpenSeason, the then Mauser importer, closed and left me with a badly threaded "new" barrel Mike contacted me and offered to sort it out. He did a first class job and declined any payment just a small donation to the good cause he supports. I have tried to win a couple of the rifles has donated and will no doubt try in the future.

Only one experience, a phone call earlier this week regarding a rifle I was told was built by Brock & Norris. Not sure who I spoke to, but I reckon we could have yapped all day, had my phone signal not dropped. Couldn't have asked for better. I also know what its like to not be able to get work done for answering peoples questions over the phone, but its what inspires confidence in customers. Top marks from me!

The trouble with this kind of post is that it makes people apprehensive about offering anything or making donations. If you have a problem with someone then talk to them about it not the whole world
To be fair to the OP, he just got worried because he was getting no response to his comms. Sounds like the two of them are now connected and it was just a misunderstanding.

The whole point was I couldn’t talk to him because he didn’t reply to my messages or emails. He’s now acknowledged he received the stock back 2 weeks ago (not the end of last week). And has now sent a refund (yesterday apparently) Why he couldn’t of said that I don’t know. If he had I wouldn’t of started this post. As i said earlier in the post he received the stock back on the 1st of May. if I hadn’t of started this thread then I still wouldn’t know what Was happening. As far as I’m concerned I was perfectly within my rights to post this it’s just a shame I had to in order to get a response

Yes sir it was me you spoke to visa vis a 284 I had built .

I’ve always had good email replies and Facebook replies answering my questions, and also makes some nice rifles

Only spoke to him once, on the phone. Seemed like a gent to me, perhaps a bit of a rough diamond, clearly not the sort to suffer fools. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him, based on what I've heard and seen of his work.

I have hesitated about posting something on this thread as I know negative reviews can impact business and that isn't my intent, but I just wanted to bring some balance.

I tried to do business with Mike, I really did! I've heard the reports on the quality of the work he delivers and have no reason to doubt that. However, I tried to order a custom build about 18 months ago and initially all was great, very friendly and helpful. However, when I called to ask for an update on the progress of a quote he'd promised 6 weeks previously, I basically got a load of abuse about how busy he was and somehow it was my fault he'd not been able to stick to the deadlines he'd set himself! Very strange behaviour and at no point had I been pushy or hassling - I wasn't in a rush for the rifle and knew the McMillan stock would be at least 6 months anyway. But if someone says "give me a week to pull a quote together" I don't think it's unreasonable to ring after 6 weeks to find out how things are progressing...

I wouldn't use again myself but I know he has a thriving business and plenty of fans so all the best to him.

We have been doing business with Mike since roughly ten years. In that time there was not a single issue. Yes Mike is ex military and it might show here and there. The Military experience on the other hand will also lead to no nonsense, good, reliable rifles. I have learned a few things from Mike in the past which has helped our business also. ….and most of us are far from being perfect. a bit of tolerance.
