Budget .308 options/recommendations

This is an excellent rifle. Not screw cut is likely a good thing, as the bore is probably in better nick. I have a .308 591 as one of my absolute work horses, albeit in a different stock, newly rebarreled, but that’s the joy of such a well engineered rifle-worth throwing money at.
Yeh this looks nice aswel , have looked at this advert a few times over the last little while haha. Right top end of me budget, but looks a good buy for the money with the leopold and bipod in with it 🤔

Do many on here have much experience buying a rifle/shotgun via RFD transfer, just relying on pics ect?? Seeing plenty I'd be interested in , but all so far absolutely miles away. Spose it just comes down to personal preference, think I'd always prefer to have a hands on look over something.

Yes I have bought rifles and shotguns via online auction/guntrader and also direct from shops. It's worked out fine either way in my experience as I only have a small budget so I am not spending large amounts. It would be different if I was a wealthy collector spending north of £100k on a Boss shotgun or something like that. In that case I would want to test shoot the piece before buying.

Get it sent to an RFD you trust. Get them to borescope it as a condition of sale. If it’s an old rifle the bore is unlikely to be pristine but a decent gunsmith will appraise you if it’s very badly pitted or shot out.
