BUG BAND

Mr B, as another member of the forum commented a short while back, can you smell the fowl stench of a returning troll?

Life up there is tough especially if your not born to it. Plus its all to easy to get "comfortable" once you have been away for a while.

Whats your preferred mode of transport these days, quad , argo, mule?

PM'ed

Such as?

I've only ever seen 1 guy drive a range rover to the top of a mountain and that was Jerry Clarkson and even he needed assistance along the way.

I know a guy who uses a microlight for doing his deer counts if the weathers OK. Cant see it being much use as a mode of transport for a stalker though.

Marty, whatever new name you are going to use next, I am sorry to hear that you do not have the experiance of highland stalking and the various forms of equipment used, never mind.

Well I wouldnt advise you use what Mr Clarkson used, good presenter and rather a comedian, much the same as yourself. Other forms of mechanical means are.

A Polaris, Snowcat, Soft track, also those new 2 wheel motorbikes are supposed to be quite good?, a Drag Bag and if you have the money and time a Helicopter.

There you go matey.

Far from it! But its always good to canvas other experienced stalkers opinions.

Polaris is a quad bike or was the last time I looked. Snowcats/ Soft tracks  To big, to noisy and to costly to run and maintain. The off road motorbikes are useless, unstable and you can't drag naff all with them.
Copters are great used to great effect on the last SDC cull I understand.

What do you use for those,Kent muntjac?

Only kidding!

Well Marty I will give you 7 out of 10. A Polaris is a 6 wheel bike or at least the one we have used in Scotland is, a quad is a 4 wheel.

Must do better!

As for the Munties I have shot plenty in most of the counties they are found in, but unfortunatly never one in Kent. However as you now seem to be the expert   on Muntjac in Kent, I expect to see you standing prowdly with your Kent cull buck in the Trophy Forum room. Never seen any photos of yours or Douglas/Bagpuss or whatever you called yourself in there yet, why is that?

I know tooooo modest!! Ah well, never mind.

Ah you refer to the new Polaris. I thought you meant the old one

I've never been much on posing for the camera, I leave that for those who seek the notoriety and their 15 mins of fame. I'm far to interested in getting on after the next one. Besides everyone always looks a complete numpty in posed photos don't you think.

No thats the old one, Oh dear wrong again. Never mind.

If everyone looks like a numpty in their trophy photograph I take it thats an insult cast at everyone who has posted on here then.

Desperate measures Mr Feldman.

How old do you want to go. We had a Polaris 14 years ago which was a quad!
Absolute load of junk. Outed it and got a Honda, Fantastic piece of kit.

Take it any way you can Malcie, thats always been my advise to aspiring young stalkers

Mr Feldman is he another of your "friends" along the same lines as Mr B? I cant find any record of him on the members list.

I couldnt agree more, Polaris are a load of junk, we have used a 6 wheeler two years running on an area in the highlands, which belongs to the estate, not me. There are no chain guards and the first decent bog or high heather you come to gets wrapped around the chains. I have a second hand Honda 450 which is a great bike, cant fault it.

But you did ask me what other forms of transport there are, so now you know.

Cheers Mr Feldman
