Butchery Event Saturday 11th November 2023. (1.45pm-4pm)
The committee of the South West England branch of the BDS are delighted to announce that we have secured the services of a well-known local butcher for a demonstration of butchery skills. This will also cover other interesting and essential topics for those who butcher or want to start butchering their own carcasses.
The event will be held on Saturday 11th November and will be hosted by Phil Beatty at his shop G T Orsman Butchers in Shaldon, Devon.
Topics covered will include;
- Sharpening your butchery knives and keeping them sharp.
- Butchering the shoulder.
- Butchering, steaking, and tying the haunch.
- Making sausages and burgers.
If there are any other specific areas that you would like covered, please let us know by email and we will endeavour to incorporate them into the event.
The cost of the event is £35 per person and will include a take-away goodie bag of sausages and burgers that are made during the demonstration.
