Calais to Breda

I usually carry a copy of the V5 when I'm away on the bike........never been asked for it - if you're using a hire car/van the company should be able to provide a copy or just direct any requests back to them.
Yeah I know (now) what form I need, VE103. It's a wheelchair adapted transit basically. We wheel my son in in his wheelchair & then it's anchored down. The website was saying 3 week turnaround. But wife just spoke to motability & they are posting it today! Reckon should be here Friday...we go Monday!!

Hope you get sorted. Remember insurance and breakdown!
Ghent worth a stop if route takes you past it. Utrecht also a nice city to visit.
South Holland and Belgium well known for their frites, if cold well worth partaking.
Breda itself worth a look. Daesdonk (not sure if that’s spelt right, it’s all double Dutch….) museum - and old windmill, obvs very Dutch. Landgoede Bouvigne also pretty spot if weather ok.
Albert Heijn (light blue colour) is the local supermarket and handy for inexpensive snacks etc if self catering.
Have a good trip 👍

Just got home. Big thank you to everyone who contributed. We had absolutely amazing time & plan to return to Netherlands soon. Stopped in Gent one night on the way to break up the driving , which was brilliant place, wish we'd had longer than one night but got to visit Christmas market.

The Dutch people were some of the nicest I've ever met, and we got talking to a German family (my wife is good German speaking) who had a child with similar disabilities to our son, ended up exchanging address & emails etc who invited us to visit them in Koblenz (?)

Great family time.

Thanks again 🇪🇺

Glad you enjoyed your trip, lots of good places to see in the Netherlands, lots of decent people (who tend to speak good English!). Always a laugh going through Belgium as most of the towns have two names - Flemish and French - and sometimes easy to get odd directions!
Koblenz is a decent place to visit and you'll have the whole of the Rhine valley and the Mosel (Moselle in France) valley to play with. :tiphat:

Sounds like a success- glad it went well 👍👍👍

Glad you had a great time Ben.
Bruges if you go again is beautiful, as others have said Decathlon in Calais and the Citie of Europe shopping centre.
In Belgium the unfortunately named Plopsaland in De panne worth a visit for little ones .De panne has a pedestrian shopping centre well worth a visit .
The Ibis hotel is very reasonable and central to the town 👌. In summer all the bars/restaurants have decking on the beach so you can eat and drink watching the sea .
