Can anybody help me with velocity?

Yeah I don't know anybody with one. Nor do I want to spend the money on a single use item
Make a few phone calls, a lot of the “F” class guys are hand loading and have chronographs.
They’re based at Midlands and in Kerry.
From memory you’re based in the SE? There are a few close to you, make J. Lambert your first port of call.

Ah sure look, I can barely get a place to stretch 200 so we will see
being frank, pre chrono days estimates of speed where wildly out based on trajectories , i would just shoot at intervals to find the best zero and record your dope . pre fancy range finders thats what the uk military did with their AI rifle
testing a deer calbre at 200 certainly isnt going to teach you much other than " when its zeroed at 200 you can point and shoot shoot if you just guess wind. on fallow, sika, red

they're usually put through a 24" barrel.

So if I do the maths - with 25fps loss per inch as mentioned here that works out at 2705fps.

However, I've also heard it can be 50 fps per inch lost so that works out at 2605fps.

I'm not looking for pinpoint accuracy, just something to get on paper
faster powders compensate pretty well for the shorter barrels , oh yeah you cant load over in |Ireland  back to shooting paper
