Can anyone identify this plant?

Can anyone help identify this plant, it was outside a restaurant I visited in summer, also - if anyone can identify it - does anyone know if it dies off in winter or is evergreen?

I don't know it's name. No. It doesn't die back in Winter. In fact, it is daren't difficult to do harm to. :worried:. I planted one 10yrs ago. It grows & grows & the harder/more you cut it back, by jove it loves it & comes back harder. I sound like I don't like it, but, I do.. Just that given the opportunity it'll "take over"
A couple of years ago (after I fed it!):eek::D😂😂 it threw out some shoots which threatened to flower, which didn't. Makes it an interesting addition to the right place in a garden 'tho.

Hi gixer1

Download the PictureThis app, just take a picture of any plant & it gives you everything you need to know regarding the said plant. The app is free & you can use it 5 times a day before you have to start paying.

Thankfully its not pampas grass that you are enquiring about gixer.
A friend of ours is convinced and told us in all seriousness that pampas grass plants at the front of the house is a sign that indicates that the occupants are into wife swapping.
Since being told that my wife and I can't keep a straight face if we see pampas grass in a garden. The blinking stuff is everywhere. :D

I came across a plant I couldn't identify earlier in the year. 'Plantnet' told me it was fiddleneck immediately after photographing a cutting from it. Really worthwhile app to have.

I’d say Phormium, both cordyline and yucca have tendencies to grow stems. Phormium has a more spreading habit.
