can you ID this rifle please?

Plenty of those old BSA sporting rifles still being used in New Zealand....I re-barrel several every year.If you ever have to dis-assemble the bolt make sure it is done by someone who knows their way around these rifles....don't ask me how I know this....

I’m beginning to think it’s a CF2…
Hi Marty,
Have you decided which BSA model you have? I omitted to post Pics 3 & 4 you sent me earlier, so these are now attached. If there had been a .222 round lying on the follower in pic #4596 then that would have clinched it as a 'Hunter' for me.;)

Ithaca NY imported BSA (and Tikka LSA) rifles into the US in the 60s-70s, but their postwar catalogues aren't on WaybackMachine as I hoped.
It occurred to me that one way of finding out would be to look at the company website, then look at the rifles on the UK Guntrader sales site.

1954 Introduction of Hunter sporting rifle (in .22Hornet & .222 size only according to De Haas)
1963 Introduction of the High Power sporting rifle (Medium - .243 - .308 size) - 'Majestic'?
1965 Introduction of the Monarch sporting rifle (Long action - .30-06 size)
1972 Introduction of the CF2 range of sporting rifles (no idea about these)

When you've changed the ring-mounts, and are getting down to making ammunition let me know. I've had a Heym SR40 LH .222 for a long time, and think I've learned what works best by trial and error.

I’m in process of switching to Leupold rings and mounts on this rifle. Assuming that goes ok, I won’t need these.

Is anyone interested in the PH A3 and A11 dovetail mounts that are on this rifle?
Pay the postage from Canada and they’re yours.
