Had this want for a long old while, and I couldn't resist any longer.

I wanted a speciality pistol for targets in the UK and hunting abroad.
I knew I wanted as short as is feasible which dictated centre grip, decent balance, under 7.5lb to comply with a stateside competition, and in a cartridge suitable for hunting out to 400m for a planned mountain hunt.
Essentially boiled down to a couple of niche single shot handguns, or an xp-100 style bolt action.
Well when this particular niche pistol in 7mm-08 was spotted, I had to have it.
Well under 7.5lbs with the 2-7x Burris

Many thanks there mate, doing a fine job.

Stalking Show was interesting as I was shopping with a very different plan in mind to what I'd usually go with, but left with a good idea of what was available and what was applicable to my use.

Recoil is present but not at all worrisome.
Initial load development, though of course a very small sample size, is promising.
I have plenty of room to work up, but an accurate 150gr ELD-X at 2700fps is plenty.

Now to get it all dialled in, and then start practicing some field positions out to 400m or so.20260402_164132.webpimage_cropper_1776596825978.webp

I’m glad the scope went to a good home… It funded something a bit more sensible for my .357 long-barrelled revolver! I’ve got to say, for such little money the Vector Optics red dots are incredible value. £105 gets you an adjustable reticle, solar panel, and wake-up sensor.
I've been interested in one for some lower recoil applications, may try one out on that recommendation.
I’ve said it before

I’ll say again

Damn, I miss shooting pistols

Same. I'm not old enough to have owned one, but I've shot proper ones with work and abroad.
The rifle cartridge pistols have always appealed though, and I'd never used one of those. Now I own one, and so far it's doing a good job of scratching that itch.

I’ve got this one and another enclosed one on my .44 magnum under-lever as a 45’ backup sight. I’m hugely impressed. Frankly, the one pictured above is probably better than the Holosun on my LBP - the optic is certainly clearer with less of a blue tint… and nearly a third of the price!

I tried a Holosun, but when the 1st and it's replacement were unserviceable I gave up on them.
I know they get good reviews, but that soured me on them.

Upper price range Vortex and Aimpoint/Trijicon works for me.
Did mean I didn't have a more affordable option, until now. I see a Vector in my future.
