Any suggestions for legal methods to deter a cat from leaving its deposits on my gravel drive, right where I walk to get into the car, without resorting to letting my dopy hound out to eat it (the poo
.. not the cat) before I get to the car.

Pretty sure cat, only the size of a 2" 28 gauge at the most, in 3 pieces but firm.(dry fed? ). Gave it a sniff and cat.

You could get some of those ultrasonic cat deterrent sticks. Tho since you have a dog it would also be unpleasant to him.

Got a flatcoat that thinks cats want to be his friend that would do the job as cats don't feel they want to love him, but drive is not dog secure and he would take himself off to find some extra attention.. plus the deposits appear overnight. .. probably about 2 / 3am from the camera that picks the cats up.

I've heard coffee grounds are a pretty decent repellent? And if they're spread on gravel you probably won't even notice them?

#3 A long drive to the other end of the country...
#4 Let it out next to a cat friendly sanctuary...
#5 Hopefully, when it ends up back home in a few weeks' time, the owners will be a little more responsible and not turf it out at night....

Have this issue. I'm not sure if it's definitely working but I think human urine may work. Pee in an empty bottle then pour it near the target area. Seems to deter foxes also.

I'm really against free ranging cats because of this and them hunting. Just plain antisocial having a pet that you deliberately allow to defecate at your neighbours'.

Like your way of thinking , but I quite like cats as an animal having grown up with 20+ farm cats. Also recently helped get a missing moggie back to its owners from 20 miles away. (Some great cake as a thank you)

Without double checking, I think we can possibly shoot ferral cats in England, but pretty sure this a a pet with a name and loving family.... doesn't stop me for disliking it for shitting right by my car every night.

A friend had a similar problem and had a contraption with a pir which activated a valve on the hosepipe with a nozzle pointing right at the required spot. No staying up with a water pistol or catapult for him.
