Catapults again…..

Interesting article. It looks like Starmer's sights are now on catapults. Well, if peashooters are illegal, it only follows that something as deadly as a catapult should be too.
Like Barbera said, "If my husband had taken the bin out 10 minutes later, he could have been killed"

New rules on Catapults in the offing;
All Catapults constructed other than with knicker elastic to be banned, those remaining to be licensed, and carried only whilst in possession of the full set up of Carp gear, otherwise confiscation will take place.

The only real change in the law required, is that the scrotes carrying out this sort of offence should be treated exactly as if they had been using a firearm and suffer the same level of penalty.

And I apply this to any form of “proctile whether its a rifle bullet, a brick, a bottle full of petrol, or a bolt or arrow, if you direct implements at members of the public or their property resulting in inconvenience or harm you deserve the full weight of the law.

I think there should be an exemption if the projectile is copper if its lead however it should be life without possiblity of parole .......

What do you expect from a lawyer. Laws are useless if they’re not enforced. The AK’s and MAC10’s that are used by gangs across the country were banned in 1920, decades before they were invented but criminals still get them and use them.

I would rather see the e bikes you see everywhere masked up momps flying all over banded no catapults
The e bikes have killed at least 3 people up here in the northeast of England so country wide could be double figures 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
I could be wrong but a don’t think av heard any one killed with a catapult
The article about catapults mentioned sounded like gunfire 😱🤷‍♂️
About 85% of the country has probably never heard gunfire unless they live in certain parts of London then it’s a nightly occurrence…..
where do these people get off 🤬

A lucky escape. I was out in my garden last night and thought to myself "Wow! If I'd have been standing here just in these shirtsleeves and these thin trousers during the last Ice Age I'd have been literally frozen to death." So I went inside and thought how things could have turned out very differently and if I hadn't fortunately been there twenty thousand years later. I'll be certainly texting Barbara as soon as I've got credit on my 'phone. Something must be done!

A bit like those interviews you see after any foreign disaster (earthquake, tsunami, mass shooting, terrorist attack, etc):

Mr and Mrs Britabroad, of Haywards Heath, tell of their lucky escape following the tragic disaster in xyz [insert budget foreign holiday destination of your choice].
"We'd thought about booking a holiday in xyz the year before last, but eventually decided against it and went on a cruise instead" says Mr Britabroad. "I'm getting panic attacks and can't sleep, just worrying about how narrowly we escaped yesterday's disaster in xyz" added Mrs Britabroad.

How about banning petrol strimmers etc?

Out on the motorbike yesterday and stopped to chat to the road workers about which sections of road were closed.
If I'd have been stood at the side of the vehicle rather than in front I could've been killed ...... lol

I was stood talking to the all yellow hi viz guy, where he is here, when we came under fire!

Note the side window now on the floor after an errant stone conflict.

The more time goes on and the more our government chooses the 'colouring by numbers politics' of banning things rather than emphasising the responsibilities which come with rights, the more I think the Americans have it right.

People are flawed/not perfect which means any government system is flawed, and any system to keep it accountable will tend towards this flawed nature as a result, even if the system somehow wasn't flawed from the outset. The only way government can truly be held to account is if there are legislated inalienable rights which includes the population having the means to overthrow the government at any time because that means the government is always kept wary/respectful of the population as it knows it can't just do what it pleases. That's what a balance of power looks like. It's not a call for an uprising, but for the capacity to rise up.

Likewise, if you disarm the population, the law abiding will not have weapons but the criminals still will, so law abiding people will suffer at their hands. Restore the balance of power by saying everyone can carry weapons for legitimate self defence then criminals will think twice...

Over the last fifty years we have seen governments of all hues take more and more responsibility away from people and yet the heirs to these governments now somehow seem to wonder why people have become more and more irresponsible.
