thanks i thought they were to good to be trueIf it's the same 22lr shotshell I was once given then you're looking at sub five yards and then you're only realistically able to destroy mice and the likes.Theyre very , very limited in their application.Or this was my experience.
rats in the garden up to 10yds max i was thinking take the first and bang bang bang on the runWhat was going to be your intended use if you don't mind me asking?
This. Yes they'll have enough velocity to actually shoot clean through a squirrel at fifteen or twenty yards but they'll not have enough pattern to be certain of hitting a vital spot. Used them maybe forty plus years ago. Shot a running squirrel at fifteen yards and you could see the blood on the pile of stone slabbing behind. But it didn't either kill it dead right there nor even roll it over. And at shorter ranges the pattern is so tight (this through a Webley .22 RF Garden Gun) that to be truthful an air rifle is a better weapon. If the quarry is stood or sat still an air rifle is a better choice. If the quarry is running the pattern isn't adequate. A gimmick. Good for "Kit Gun" (Smith and Wesson Model 34) use on snakes in the USA. Useless for what we shoot in the UK IMHO where handguns are illegal. If you are obliged to use a long arm (as handguns are banned where you live) then there are better choices. If it's the same 22lr shotshell I was once given then you're looking at sub five yards and then you're only realistically able to destroy mice and the likes.Theyre very , very limited in their application.Or this was my experience.
I'm assuming bang, bang, bang you're thinking semi auto? I'd be very surprised if they would cycle.rats in the garden up to 10yds max i was thinking take the first and bang bang bang on the run
I only ever used them through a single shot so wouldn't know about a semi auto but I would be surprised if they cycled.Buy a box to try,if the price is right, and give them a whirl. You may be pleasantly surprised but that wasn't my experience with them.rats in the garden up to 10yds max i was thinking take the first and bang bang bang on the run
I use the federal shotshell for grey squirrels and mink in cages, only 2ft max range from the target as that’s how long the cages are but they are great for that job,no damage to the cages eitherhi anyone on here used these,
CCI LR Shotshell No.12 Shot - .22LR if so what range did you take ??? out at thanks in advance
They didn't cycle in a semi auto for me either - no great hardship though.I only ever used them through a single shot so wouldn't know about a semi auto but I would be surprised if they cycled.Buy a box to try,if the price is right, and give them a whirl. You may be pleasantly surprised but that wasn't my experience with them.
They could be ok for just stinging other unwanted pests in my garden after ive dug and raked the soil lolI'm assuming bang, bang, bang you're thinking semi auto? I'd be very surprised if they would cycle.
I got some last year, part of my duties include trapping squirrels and I thought they'd be just the job for cage shooting.
I found them to be woefully underpowered plus I didn't want to put them through the moderator.
I've since got some .38 shot shells which are much more useful!
Aye don't let me put you off, get yourself a box and test them out. They could be ok for just stinging other unwanted pests in my garden after ive dug and raked the soil lol
To be fair I put them through a browning bl22 (great wee rifle bought for knocking around as it is open sights and really short, plus I’ve always wanted a cowboy gun look a like and it’s fun and cheap to run with subsonics that’s still rabbit useable out to 80 yards with practice)They didn't cycle in a semi auto for me either - no great hardship though.
