U'd get better answers if u state a budget, wot u want saw for and size off timber u will be cutting?
That will affect ur cc u need.

Personally i wouldnae take a modern husky as a gift.
There pro grade saws are junk now.
There is companies importing old 3 series saws, there far better saws if u want to go orange.

Plenty other decent brands thou.

Stihl 181 is a good start, and the sky's the limit.
Husky 435 is the smallest genuine husky, for occasional use up to once a week. Neither would give you much bother if looked after.

Depending on your needs, I use a parkertools one. £125 I think. I am not a pro and I only use it for my log burner. and if I get 2 years out of it I am well in.
I just cut a large beech tree with it. I cut about 6 to 8 cubic meters a year.

If it is for light and occasional use, a Husqvarna 130 is a good wee saw. I bought a used 350 for not much money. It is a 50cc and can tackle some big bits of timber....

I've got a 450 and dad a 350. It's done loads of work and will tackle trees 2ft round. Dad's is 25years old and still running very well. Highly recommended.
