Hi guys,
As we know there’s a wide range of different scope rings .
Currently I have 2 sets of Sportsmatch rings for weaver mounts, one on my 22lr on a cheap Hawke and another on a Meopta which I swap onto my 223 (swap between a Hikmicro NV).
The Hik NV is on Leupold QRW2 rings for a rail.
I’ve put a pic rail onto my 308 as love all the rifles having the same bases and the ease of swapping scopes between rifles by hand, very easy and handy and no nonsense worrying about the scope rings size etc.
Now I need to get 2 more sets of rings for a 6x42 S&B, and a 4-16x44 Vortex, both with 1” tubes.
Now the QRW rings are about £100 a set, whilst the Sportsmatch are under £30 a set.
Is there really that significant of a difference between different sets of mounts?
Whilst the QRW are very clearly better made, I’ve had the day scope with the SM mounts off the 223, put it back on and it’s still on up-to 100 yards say.
