cheapest night vision or thermal

Actually found some stuff on offer. A pard 007 850nm for 330 and a 009 850nm for 360. Is the 009 worth it?
nvm seems the 009 is a completely different device.
the pard sold out under my nose.

I did track down a yukon photon rt 6x50 for 200 euro.

I do like the nitesite wolf on paper but i just noticed batteries are non existent. So unless someone knows a workaround its just a no go for me, 1.5-7.5 hours battery Life when new depending on the setting sounds like its good to keep a second battery around. Not to mention that its a ticking timebomb, Lithium packs dont last forever.

I think the yukon photon is a good deal for 200. would have liked the ability to have it detache without loss of zero, would have combined the nitesite with a small scope for instance.

The wolf type if I have it correct uses a large screen that also lights your face up!
They are outdated speck.

In your circumstances I'd use a red light to spot and another on the rifle with remote switch.

yes, clip on with a screen, but the screen is individually dimmable. I would actually be ok with that is not for the fact that any and all support/batteries are discontinued.

I think the yukon photon is my ticket now. In Finland the pard is just a bit above what iam willing to spend. We dont get to hunt rabbits with it or foxes etc, just wild boar wich is not in my area and racoondogs, a rewarding hunt but hardly profitable.

So unless a cheaper pard shows up il go for one of the yukons. still debating gen 1 vs digital. I know digital is technically more advanced but i have this idea that analog is more reliable if i where to switch it over to my vepr or new dragunov at some point for instance. I have come to value semi auto firepower on racoondog.

torch isnt for me. Nothing wrong with it, i just dont want to emit visible light, visible to humans.

Hello, That is a good deal on the RT, What do you mean by detatched ??,

Like putting an ad on on a low profile scope. The gun in question is a folding survival rifle, with something like a 36mm scope it folds into a daypack. Then i would just carry the night vision seperately. the RT is about the size of the rifle itself

What is the range/focus on that? Still think il grab a dedicated NV unit but a red light might be handy for recovery, i imagine it would even work with an LPVO?
Mine works well beyond 150yds. I have another with a whip that will go about 90.
Both are focus adjustable. Both use 16650 cell.
Ooo, is mine 18650 cells...I get confused...

what would you recommend? i have Mlok on the handguard of my Vepr, it has a 1-10x24 on it. I assume that with a good torch even the Limited low light ability of the lpvo should be fine?

Hello, I have gone back ratting to a red torch, Mine will do 150 yards and focus adjustable and with dimmer, 18650 battery, Save all the hassle and just get a N/V spotter

You said you are not shooting far?
There are many on eBay that will work for your needs. Usually low priced too.
I forget the name of one but the the other is a Tracer I believe. It's very old but still works fine.

In the absence of a thermal spotter you may need two. One on the rifle and one in the hand. You will see eye shine first. I always hold the beam up over the target and just catch some eye shine with the peripheral light until it's time to shoot.

Talking about 2 different use cases now, different guns. I get these ideas of "concept guns"
My Vepr is a daytime only driven game gun now, it has a vector 1-10x24.

Would be cool to be able to use the 1x with a flood light and 10x with a beam. if that is feasible. In that case ranges would be 10m to 200m

Hello, There are Red Torches that will do 200 mtrs, Or a white torch with a red filter, One i used did 800 yards and with a red filter a good 500 yards, Although red filters are not as good as red Leds

think il end up getting a powerful red torch either way, handy for tracking wounded game for instance.

Otherwise the Yukon is looking promising, just a bit iffy on the fixed 6x mag unless i use a seperate spotter (or is it 1-6? seems to be fixed mag)

Then there is the option of biting the bullet on a pard after all. Been binging reviews, one thing that a few critics bring up is how they dont respond well to higher magnifications, so that would exclude my zeiss diavari. And that they dont work well without adjustable paralax wich i currently dont own. That said, does scope quality really matter? As in slapping a hawke vantage rimfire scope on there rather than a zeiss.

Also, am i right to assume that to get a good mount i should install my scopes as far forward as i can?

Hello, The add on Pard is best on a low magnification Scope, Side focus or AO 3x9 4x12 , 40/50mm front lens, But like i said, A good Red Torch on a day scope and Night Vision Spotter

Using the NV unit on the firearm as a spotter will not be practical and not recommended.
wasnt planning to use it as a spotter exept when shooting over bait, in that case i know where iam expecting my target to be.

Ended up getting the Pard nv007v2, got a 200 deal on one. Il also invest in an illuminator once i figure out whats good and whats marketing as with everything.

I will also get a red light torch but that will be for tracking/searching wounded game.

I may later invest in a thermal spotter but thats above my budget for now.
