Sorry, your gonna hate me, but after two very nasty experiences with the breed, one sign of a CBR on a shoot sees me putting my dogs away for their safety.
Very aggressive towards other dogs, at least, in my experience. Sorry!

Thats down to the dog owners not putting the proper training in, not the dogs. Met plenty of other breeds, labs spaniels etc that I'd keep my dogs away from. Far too easy to blame a breed.
We've got a Belgian Malinious here, everyone wants to hide from him but he's soft as anything, because the misses put the training in.

Not disagreeing Matt, not at all, I know too much about dogs to know your not wrong. But they are such a big powerful dog, one head shake, and there is a huge vets bill.........As happened right in front of me.
D/Dog. There is a culture among a few Chessie owners of enjoying aggression ("I'm a hard man with a hard dog"). Seems to be commoner stateside.
However, there is a strong movement among breeders these days to select for temperament, which can only be a good thing.
I have owned several on and off since 1988, and have not had a scrapper among them. All different and all "characters" though. I may have been lucky.
But when I used to go on proper shoots I would never cram my dogs into a vehicle with strange animals or, worse, dogs whose owners knew they were trouble and brought them along regardless. One experience of getting bitten and any smart dog can decide to get their retaliation in first next time.
Many mates have them ( keen wildfowler ) I understand they are not suited to me and my personality. There isn't anything they can do that a good labrador cannot and they do tend very much one man dogs if its in a family
Having been in existence for as long as thier close relative the lab ( the worlds most popular gundog , assistance dog and also pet dog ) they ain't fared to well in the popular stakes . Make dambed sure they are the right dog for you
I like the cross with a lab more and just be aware some of them end up freakishly bigger than others
