Chris Packham, Driven Grouse Shooting and M&S.

Done.
I couched my complaint in the form of his misuse of his BBC status thereby bringing their reputation into disrepute ().

Had a reply from the Beeb, saying that :

This update is to let you know that we referred your complaint to the relevant people, but that it may take us a little longer before we can send our reply.

One can only assume there is a high volume of complaints on the same issue and hope they are taking it seriously, perhaps having a word...

, but that it may take us a little longer before we can send our reply.

That is because there is so many complaints on the topic that they need more time to get their line of BS in order before a proper response, because they won't want to fire their nature watch star! Or lose him to ITV. It's well documented that the corporation isn't exactly pro shooting anyway.

Yes, unfortunately that is most probably the reality.

As above I have made my complaint, reluctantly because he seems to know his subject, as does Martin Hugh Games, but when we overstep the boundary we all must expect to be held to account

I have now got my initial reply from the BBC, they will contact me with the outcome of their investigation!

I complained to BBC and this was their response. Utterly disgraceful. I should be able to not pay my license fee. Bunch of shysters.

Thank you for contacting us with your concerns regarding Chris Packham’s recent message about wild grouse.

Chris’s association with the BBC is primarily for the Watch series of programmes, where he helps to explain the science of nature. This is separate from his work outside of and independent to the BBC.
Chris Packham is a naturalist in his own right and is not solely employed by the BBC. We feel he is therefore entitled to express his personal views outside of his BBC employment.

We believe our audience is able to distinguish between Chris’s role with the BBC and his external activities. Nevertheless we will remain vigilant to ensure that the distinctions regarding Chris’s activities remain clear to our audience.

We thank you for your feedback in this instance.

Identical response to all complaints then. I will cancel my direct debit. Although the BBC have produced some of the most incredible nature footage and great television generally, they are now being allowed to display their own internal bias and politics. Nobody should have to pay for that.

Which was inevitable that this would follow...

The exact same reply that I received too. In essence, they can do what they see fit with taxpayers money, holding total bias with their views on many subjects. Classic BS response from the BBC. About time the license was done away with and they fund their broadcasting with adverts like the rest of the channels, or go subscription only.

I have received the same response.
So, whenever I see CP's face on TV I automatically think of the obscene rhetoric he has generated, but must remember that when he is appearing on BBC programmes that he didn't mean it and I should make no association with his comments and thought processes and beliefs with that august association.

OK. That's alright then.

Thank you Auntie.

All a bit different to when David Bellamy slagged off global warming they got shot of him quick as but funny thing is it's climate change now not global warming oh and was he pro shooting for his sins

So, translating from BBC speak to normal speak:

Chris Packham is quite popular with the public who watch Furry Cuddly Animal Watch. So we at the BBC don't want to get rid of him. His views are not the same as ours because we pretend to have no views. On the quiet we have told him to wind his neck in when doing stuff for the BBC though. Is that okay? We have discovered that if we sack people who have controversial views, it loses us money hand over fist (Jeremy Clarkson) which means we can't keep programmes like The Great British Bake Off. What was this about? Grouse? What are they? Ah, can we film them laying eggs and watch them hatch?
