Looking to purchase a chronograph and would be interested in what others are using?
if you want send ius a pm i have the magnetospeed v3 here , about as good as it gets
I have three Chrony units, one with the printer.~Muir
can the v3 be used with a mod, say an Ultra S5?
My understanding from those who use the magnetospeed is that there is minimal affect on accuracy. Perhaps JCS can commentIve got a f1 chrony, good bit of kit, I always use it, I wouldnt bother with magnospeed chrony,I cant see you will shoot any good with one of them strapped to the barrels and change the harmonics and bad for accuracy.

Thanks for the replies, it seems the V3 is the kiddie, will have a look at that one.
Thanks

Don't be so quick, Archie.
A chronograph is a very useful tool beyond just measuring speed and with a barrel mounted Chronograph you lose one of it's best features. By firing over a chronograph at 15 ft and then moving the chrono down range 50 or 100 yards and firing another string across it, you can easily plot the ACTUAL ballistic coefficient** of the bullet. A barrel mounted chronograph will give you just (yawn!) how fast the bullet is traveling.... leaving you to guess on the most vital parts of the exterior ballistic picture.
(**Based on the velocity, altitude, barometric pressure, temperature, humidity of your locale)
