Mr khan wants to send certain cars to Ukraine to help with the war

How ironic that cars are being taken off Uk roads to stop air pollution and slow global warming

But if it gets you kudos it’s ok to send them to another country ????

While I have no issue with sending such cars to Ukraine.
It’s a little bit ironic that such a gentleman can go on about getting dirty cars off the roads but it’s ok to use them elsewhere in the world

I do believe he has had his hand forced into this move- I have read that he stated that he would help in other ways, but the legislation was not available to release the vehicles for Ukraine. He has now changed his mind due to public opinion.

I do not agree with Ulez by the way.
 
I don't dislike many folk, but have to admit I hate Khan with a passion. What he has done to London and the poor folk who now cannot afford to run an old car is nothing short of criminal.
We have friends in the new expanded ULEZ zone who have a camper that now costs then £100/d just to take off their drive... That odious little man should be tried for treason.

The politics of envy that underpins Socialism in its' current nasty mutation. We must all not work or seek progress/betterment in any form.
 
Other day in Khandon @ 20mph it took 2 hrs.50mins to collect the lad each way traffic was pure madness but pre the 20 mph the same run would have been around 1.20min each way at the time I go! its only 34 miles each way ffs ! even though my car is Ulez the fact iam sitting in donkey slow jogging in traffic at 20mph is pushing out more C02 at low speed high revs than before ? its all about the coin and do's nothing to lesson the bad air in London . I would go by train and have a small pull cart for his belongings but there all ways on strike or no access to ground level due to lift faults bla bla bull crap ? if the C**k wishes us to use his failing transport then it needs to come back under the government's ownership and not under his as the way he ****es money up the wall its not working or fit for the job.
 
He bankrupted Tfl ,and bailed it out by Ulez..But shock it needs bailing out again.

Why should we pay for big business to install wind turbines when they make eye watering profits 🤔.
You want to abolish petrol/ diesel pay people the true value.
A ten grand car and you offer 2 ,mm No.

Truth is out there ,Volkswagen and a few other manufacturers have stopped making electric cars .
3 months hiatus as they're not selling.
Mm range before recharge all lies ,charging points not working.
Charging infrastructure not there, neither is power output.

Ulez didn't bail it out. They've had an extra £6 billion from the taxpayer. Absolutely outrageous (and I'm one of the beneficiaries!). Absolutely no reason why public transport users in and around London shouldn't pay their way. They're, on average, much richer than most.

My handful of shekel's,

1) the ulez expansion to outer London is nothing more than a short term money grab.

2.) The reduction in air pollution in inner London has coincided with the earlier adoption of ulez schemes HOWEVER I am a firm believer this coincided with the notoriously dirty buses and cabs being forced to clean up. there was a study to back this up - but im busy standing on my soap box ranting, also you can make numbers read however you want. I am not particularly anti ULEZ in inner London for everything except motorcycles due to the congestion and density of traffic.

3.) THE CONGESTION whatever benefit has come out of a ulez scheme has been hamstrung by congestion. Low traffic neighbourhoods, were undemocratically installed during covid as "experimental". All boundary roads have seen a significant increase in traffic and therfore polloution. The increase in this traffic is loacl traffic being forced on to the arterial roads as it has no where else to go. Many of these arterial roads have box ticking cycle lanes added to them that increase congestion and are not that useful to cyclists. Hackney and Camden have introduced parking charges to motorcylists where a motorcycle or scooter pays the same rate as a car. This punishes people who work nights / early mornings as well as DE incentivising a reduction in congestion.

Whilst it is easy to say what happens in London will never happen on my patch, what works as a money grab in London will be used in other areas. As we are a small crowded island most of us will be impacted by these creeping policies in the next 10 years.
