This is exactly what is needed to get people involved and have stalking be part of the community. So many people, even some on this forum, seem to want to keep it "exclusive, for professionals etc etc" rather than help people get into stalking. The more people do it the greater the voice.Quite a sparsely populated area.
This is a ground breaking initiative to provide low cost/free stalking and training opportunities to local people on publicly owned land.
There are full-time highly experienced stalkers on site who will be in full control all aspects.
Hanging off my every word as usual I see. Still not prepared to put you 'knowledge' to the test though which speaks volumes I guess!Knew you'd be completely unable to resist biting. I'm happy enough at that

Fingers x Dave, we used too have a strong hunting culture where it was easier to get permissions and firearms were not seen to be out of the ordinary. Norway has a very strong hunting culture with hunting association's taking control over the government ground.I met him and he was all for the community deer management. From people putting food on their own table to locals becoming full time deer managers and everything in between.
Even mentioned an American style tag system to make stalking accessible to everyone.
I can't see that taking hold but who knows.
I hope so mate , greed has about ruined stalking /fishing for the majority of working class people in respect to getting permissions , guides come in with big big dollar and that's all she wrote.Fingers x Dave, we used too have a strong hunting culture where it was easier to get permissions and firearms were not seen to be out of the ordinary. Hunting connects us to nature when done correctly.
I don't think we have an organisation thats strong enough to manage that on a Norway level.

Most have now completed DSC1 and ATV courses.
Some of the more experienced members have been out and shot deer unaccompanied and some have been accompanied by staff and shot deer.
All in all a very promising first season.
Ahh yes. Met them both. Roger played accordion and Calum I think was on islay. Shared many bottles in the larder with the three of them. Great pity the estate was sold and the let stalking stoppedDon't really know sharpie but knew his father
and two of his brothers Roger and Calum.
That’s good, I wonder if other government bodies will follow suit, could be interesting times ahead.12 members of the scheme with a broad range of abilities and experience.

No one cab do it as good as them either , it's just not possible.I’ve often internally remarked how some on this forum are sometimes just plain negative but…
Don’t hold your breath. Sorry, on this occasion, I couldn’t help myself![]()
