Tough it out for hilux, you'll regret it if you don't I have been looking for nearly a year ! Got frustrated at the price of them compared to some others. So I looked at alternatives , long story short I made excuses up for not having any of them. I think once you've had a hilux you don't change . Yes they are more expensive but hold their price well , I have just sold my y reg hilux for 4k to a dealer who didn't even look at it before sending a driver to pick it up and deliver it straight to the docks for export to the middle east that day..... I am very happy with my 07 plate 3ltr invincible only draw back is that it is RED. The "fireman" micky taking is now subsiding.

My Hilux is white commercial with yellow beacon which I was going to remove but find it useful for getting out of gateways at busy times so left it on.
Been bomb proof just had 4 new tyres on last week.
Has wanted for nothing and had whats its needed(only servicing and back springs).
130,000 miles now
on an 05
Might tidy it up and see what dealers will offer, might make a newer one viable?
I will have had it 3 years soon so makes sense to change it, see what the accountant says.

Hi mate nothing can beat a hilux mine is an 04 d4d had since it was two years old.
now done 111000 miles.its had nothing done to it more than cv joint my fault, track rod end two sets wiper blades,
half a dozen bulbs.three sets of brake pads and the normal service goods..The central locking has packed up.
I am not going to part with it but i have had offers.
They hold there value very well because every body knows
YOU CANT BEAT A HILUX
good luck if you change to a truck that looks better
regards brian

remember a good hunter will always beat the best marksman

Ask yourself this John
Which pick up holds it's value better than any other?
Which one is the hardest to get hold of,6 month waiting list for a new hilux up here from main dealer!
Which one can you trash and it will still work day in/day out
Which one could you get to the north pole?
Which one can you demolish a high rise tenement under it and it still start, without doing work to it?
Answer a Toyota Hi-lux!
Stick with the best and you will have more money at the end of it's life because it won't have cost you as much during it's life either,it'll be worth more at end than any other pick up as well
Isuzu,Ranger,L200 are not worth as much 2nd hand because they aren't as good as a hilux
Simple,choice made:stir:;)

Just got my truck back from a full winter service today, + 4 new tyres.
Wow its different again like a spring chicken.
Think I'll hold on to it now for a little while longer and wait for the right (hilux invincible.) replacement to come along.

The right choice John. I wouldn't sell mine unless I already had another already waiting in the wings! I also think that the mk5 that we both have is the best one, not over complicated and not too many extras! Theres a lot to be said for simple in this modern age.

My Toyota is a 95 - thats 1995 - 4Runner, have to say full on Toyota convert.

Would it help if I bought yours for £40 ( it is white - otherwise would have stretched to £50 ) and the capital write off will do wonders for your tax bill.... well it was worth a try!;)

Drive a range of various estate vehicles through the year and Hilux's that look like they were on the wrong end of a F14 in Kabul - still beat them.

The others here have the two previous versions of the Navara - both much newer, but dont feel as good to drive as the 4R and spend a lot more time over the pit.

Hang out for the Hilux.
